Culturesmart Medical Interpreter Training The 45-hour Culturesmart Medical Interpreter Training provides qualified interpreters with the skills required to deliver accurate and complete medical interpretation in health care settings. Realistic Training Setting- Training participants attend classes in English and have the opportunity to practice in their native languages, ensuring that they learn terminology in a more culturally-realistic setting than an English-only classroom. Participant Course Books- All participants receive a coursebook that covers learning points, activities, detailed examples, theory and practice of medical interpreting, medical vocabulary, and role-plays for classroom practice. In addition, they will receive an illustrated guide to the human body. Certificate of Proficiency- Assessments include mid-term and final testing. Rigorous written and oral final assessments cover vocabulary and interpreting skills. Unlike some trainings, we only issue certificates to participants who earn them, not to recognize good attendance. Recipients of certificates are also eligible for 10 continuing education points from the American Translators Association.
